In a parade off to the Center for Wooden Boats 2-13-14, for an exhibit called “Highliners: Boats of the Century”. The boats are from the Fishing Vessel Owners Association.
The representative boats from the fleet such as the f/v Seymore, f/v Vansee, f/v Kristiana, f/v Polaris and others will be at the Wharf in Lake Union Park for the opening of the exhibit February 15th, 2014… then some will head for Alaska to work.
Polaris, is a halibut and black cod ship. The St John II was built in 1942 and spent most of its time with the Olsen Reis family fishing in the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea.
